Anthony Snippe started up his greenhouse in the early 1990’s as a side project. The business started because they wanted to provide a good environment for the children. The idea was that both parents would be home and able to help raise the children. Originally Anthony worked full time at another company while his wife ran the greenhouse. As the greenhouse grew and expanded, he switched to the greenhouse as a full time job in 2003.The business has always been family run. In the beginning they started with bedding plants. In the year 1998 they introduced ice cap mums for Christmas to their list of products. Soon after in 2000 they started growing fall mums and continued to produce until Valentine’s Day. Both Anthony’s Wife Janet and Daughter work full time in the greenhouse. There are 3 other part time employees, along with his youngest daughter. It is only during the spring when the company hires on an extra 10 people to get through the spring rush. “You need good people to work for you, under you. We do the best we can, trying to grow a quality product.” With good employees and quality product, it allows you to move forward.
Currently they supply 10 different suppliers. “There is always the pressure to go bigger, but we will see what the future brings.” The operation is in total 65,000 sq.’
